It never happens until it does. There is a saying, life is about beating the odds, but what are the odds? Why is it that some people make it and others don’t? Why is it called luck if we are preparing for what we know is going to eventually happen? Why is it that we look at data and think it can’t happen? Did the NCAA set up Virginia to lose to UMBC? And why isn’t Malcom Butler being called the Martha Stewart of the NFL? Some say it's all about data or is it?
Everyone has the ability to fight. Everyone has the ability to step their game up and do “more” but will they decide too? Whether your fight is on the sports field, on or in the court, boardroom, classroom, or streets, you have a choice to make, and what you decide will either put you in a better or worse position when the next fight comes.
Have you ever struggled at something new? Do you understand when to do something fast and when to slow it down? Have you executed under pressure while changing pace because your boss has given you an additional assignment? This is all evidence that we all play a sport that we thrive in. This is also evidence that game speed is required in every aspect of our lives.
